Upon completion of the PIA Foundation Mat Workshop and approximately 6 months or more of teaching the foundation mat exercises, a PIA Pilates student should follow up with the Advanced Mat Workshop which will expand upon the foundations taught earlier. In this workshop, Pilates concepts and principles are explored in more depth and over 40 new and challenging intermediate and advanced exercises are added, plus advanced versions of the foundation exercises, appropriate for the more advanced practitioner with some Pilates experience. Focus is placed, as always, upon form and attention to detail, as well as learning to develop the Pilates "eye".
A short written and practical exam will be administered during the weekend for those wishing to receive a teaching certificate.
This workshop is approved for ACE and Pilates professionals. ACE has approved this workshop for 1.5 continuing education credits.
